Role Description
As an Online Teaching Assistant, you will support UNISA’s online students by engaging with them, grading assignments, and providing academic guidance. You will assist with teaching tasks for a module focused on sustainability, ethics, and corporate responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate online discussions and address student queries.
- Review course content and assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Mentor new TAs and contribute ideas for content improvement.
- Grade assignments and offer personalized feedback.
- Attend marking meetings and handle administrative tasks related to grading.
Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree with coursework in moral philosophy, ethics, sustainable development, or corporate social responsibility.
- Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat; strong communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Infrastructure: Must have an internet-connected computer with relevant software (no hardware or software will be provided).
- Attributes: Strong English proficiency, passion for student-centered learning, and ability to handle complexity in a high-pressure environment.
