The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), in collaboration with the Sasol Foundation, invites South African students to apply for the 2025 Bursary Programme.

The bursary will be awarded to students pursuing undergraduate degrees in the following fields:
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Electronic Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronic Engineering

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the bursary, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Achieve a minimum of:
- Level 5 for English
- Level 6 for Mathematics
- Level 6 for Physical Science
- Be studying or planning to study full-time in one of the eligible fields at a recognized public university in South Africa
- Have passed all university courses (if already studying)
- Be currently unemployed
Service Contract & Selection Process
After graduation, bursary recipients are required to work for CSIR and the Sasol Foundation for one year for each year of funding received. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. If you do not receive feedback, consider your application unsuccessful.
