The Golden Valley Wind Farm is offering a bursary for the 2025 academic year to students born, living, or schooled within 50 km of the wind farm located in the Eastern Cape. This initiative aims to support students from previously disadvantaged groups.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be born, living, or schooled within 50 km of the Golden Valley Wind Farm, specifically from the communities of Adelaide, Bedford, Cookhouse, or Somerset East.
- In 2024, applicants should be studying in matric or on a gap year after matric in 2023, 2022, or 2021.
- In 2025, applicants must be studying for a SAQA-registered tertiary qualification.
- Must belong to a BBBEE racial designated group (Black, Coloured, Indian, etc.).
- Must be studying full-time from 2025 onwards at any DHET/SAQA-recognized tertiary institution.
- Must be unemployed (not working full-time in 2025 or during any year while on the bursary).
- Students with other bursaries/NSFAS must terminate their other funding contracts to accept this bursary.
- Must have applied to study in 2025 or have already been accepted for registration in 2025.
Bursary Coverage
The bursary covers:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation and meals
- Living stipends
- Book and stationery allowances
Additional Support
Successful applicants will participate in an intensive monthly mentorship program designed to enhance employability upon graduation. They will also receive comprehensive support through private tutoring funded by the sponsor.
