The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking for dedicated individuals to join their support staff as Cooks at the SAPS Academy in Philippi, Western Cape. These positions are necessary to ensure quality catering and kitchen operations for SAPS trainees and staff.
Location: SAPS Academy, Philippi, Western Cape
Salary: R228,321 per annum
Closing Date: 16 May 2025
Who Should Apply
You must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have no criminal or departmental convictions or pending cases
- Be fluent in at least two official languages, including English
- Be willing to undergo fingerprinting, vetting, and security screening
- Be medically and psychologically fit
You also need the following additional qualifications:
- A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded at NQF Level 4
- A certificate in food preparation and/or catering will be advantageous
- Ability to operate basic kitchen equipment
- Willingness to work extended hours when needed
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain kitchen and mess operations
- Handle mess purchases and stock control
- Prepare food according to menu plans
- Ensure food quality and appealing presentation
- Serve meals and provide waiter service when required
- Adhere to kitchen hygiene and safety regulations
