Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) Graduate Opportunity: Research Data Collectors (42 Posts)

The Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) is inviting unemployed graduates in KZN to apply for short-term Research Data Collector positions. These positions are open to graduates aged 18 – 35 who will assist in field data collection for research purposes.

About the Role

Selected candidates will be responsible for door-to-door data collection within specific district municipalities in KZN, including:

  • Amajuba District
  • iLembe District
  • Harry Gwala District
  • uGu District
  • uMgungundlovu District
  • uMkhanyakude District
  • uMzinyathi District
  • uThukela District
  • King Cetshwayo District
  • Zululand District

Minimum Requirements

  • A valid tertiary qualification (NQF 6 – NQF 8) – NQF 8 is an advantage
  • Computer literacy
  • Own mobile device (working smartphone) and ability to operate it efficiently
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluency in English and IsiZulu
  • A Code 08/10 driver’s license is an added advantage

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct door-to-door data collection in line with MKRI procedures
  • Survey and interview participants (both in-person and telephonically)
  • Capture data in the MKRI-prescribed format
  • Ensure data integrity and maintain professional ethics

Terms of Appointment

  • Fixed-term contract for this project only (estimated 2 – 5 days)
  • Remuneration: R350 per day
  • No accommodation provided – Only KZN residents from the listed municipalities may apply
