The Kay Mason Foundation (KMF) Scholarships for Grade 6 Learners 2025

The Kay Mason Foundation (KMF) is calling on Grade 6 learners with exceptional academic promise and leadership potential to apply for its prestigious scholarship program. If you’re a driven young learner with big dreams but limited resources, this opportunity could open the door to a world-class education and long-term academic support.

This scholarship aims to provide talented learners with access to quality high schools and holistic support throughout their academic journey.

Location: Western Cape (Cape Town, Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs, Helderberg region)
Application Closing date: 30 April 2025

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the KMF Scholarship Program, the learner must meet all the following requirements:

  • Must be in Grade 6 at the time of applying (in 2025)
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Aged between 10 and 13 years during the year of application
  • Must show academic commitment, leadership potential, and a strong work ethic
  • The combined household income must not exceed R17,500 per month
  • The learner must live within a reasonable travelling distance from the KMF offices in Bellville, including:
    • Cape Town
    • Northern Suburbs
    • Southern Suburbs
    • Helderberg Region

Documents You’ll Need to Apply

Parents and guardians must prepare and upload the following documents along with the application:

  • Grade 5 Term 4 report
  • Grade 6 Term 1 report
  • Learner’s birth certificate
  • Parent(s) or guardian(s)’ ID documents
  • Death certificate(s) (if applicable)
  • Proof of income (payslips or formal income statement)
  • 3-month bank statements for both parents/legal guardians
  • A handwritten essay by the learner (see details below)

Learner Task: Write Your Story

Each applicant must submit a handwritten essay (not typed) with the following details:
