The University of the Free State (UFS) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for their Graduate Programme 2025. This program provides valuable work experience in a dynamic academic environment.

Available Positions

1. Intern: Technology in Teaching and Learning (Assessments)

  • Job ID: 6020
  • Location: Bloemfontein Campus
  • Contract Type: 1-Year Contract
  • Stipend: R9,100.50 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing e-assessment activities and question banks.
  • Schedule e-assessments on UFS online platforms.
  • Develop training material for objective assessments.
  • Support students and academic staff in using online assessment tools.
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and report writing.

Inherent Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or B-Tech degree (NQF Level 7).

Recommendations:

  • Postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience as a Student Assistant, Tutor, EduTech Buddy, or Teaching Assistant.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or assessment platforms.

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.

2. Intern: Office Administration/Office Management

  • Job ID: 6019
  • Location: QwaQwa Campus
  • Contract Type: 6-Month Contract
  • Stipend: R9,100.50 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the diary of the Subject Head (QwaQwa Campus).
  • Handle general administrative tasks, including correspondence and scheduling.
  • Assist staff with various departmental duties.
  • Obtain and process quotes and purchase office supplies.
  • Upload student marks and handle mark-related inquiries.
  • Process invoices and other financial transactions.

Inherent Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Office Administration or Office Management.

Recommendations:

  • Experience as a Tutor, Marker, or Student Assistant.
  • Knowledge of Blackboard and Oracle PeopleSoft.

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
